Another spring holiday, can I take it.

Little Miss is home, another damn spring holiday! Actually these are built in snow days. I live in Alabama, please, snow day! Give me a damn break. They build in 3 snow days, we are lucky if we even get snow, ice maybe, but snow, PHALEAZE!!!! So this will be short and sweet, maybe. She is in her room, so maybe, just maybe I can get a bit done.

Yesterday, I mention that dear sweet Daisy was puking. I would say she puked 4-5 times before I left the house. I came home to find no puke in the floor or any where else for that matter. No pee or poo either, what I found was a sick puppy. All she wanted to do was lay. She greeted people at the door with a wagging tail, but no jumping. She went out and peed, I gave her a treat, she dropped it on the floor. She was and is sick. She had a runny shit last night, something akin to melted chocolate with grass in it. I know gross, but I had to see it, so I thought I would stick it in your mind too. She refused to eat, she wouldn't eat her treats, bologna, bacon, or milk from Hubby's cereal. She didn't even go to the kitchen when he fixed his cereal.

The word Parvo has been bouncing around here a lot, but I am not real sure. I mean yes, she threw up, yes, she is refusing food and water, yes, she has diarrhea, yet she seems to have energy to get up and socialize. She even chased the kitten across the yard. We discussed taking her to the vet. But this discussion didn't happen until after the vet's office closed. That would have been a trip the the emergency vet hospital. I am sorry, I love this puppy but.... I didn't feel she was in immediate danger of dying.

Last night at around 9, I was able to get her to eat about 4 treats, providing I broke them in to little pieces, and about 4 pieces of her dog food. She still wouldn't drink, but she did pee in the floor during the night. This morning, she has weak eyes and still not eating or drinking, but she has some energy. Complete with scuffling with the big dog. She hasn't laid all morning. But you can tell she is still feeling bad.

I discovered a puddlepile of poo. It was somewhat runny, but had some formed shit in it. It also contained a slew of string like worms. Some up to 6-8 inches long. And it stunk. (One sign of Parvo is foul smelling shit. Tell me is there any other kind? All dog shit stinks to me! This smelled foul, but no different than the other shit I have been forced to clean up.) Yes, it is gross. My delete button just isn't working this morning, or I would spare you all the gross details.* looking around to see if ANYONE believes her*

I guess my question is....Is she just a sick puppy or could it be Parvo? She hasn't been around any sick dogs, she hasn't left our yard, and all of the other dogs are fine. OK, she left the yard yesterday, but she was already puking at that point. OK, she has left the yard a few times but hey, I haven't seen any sick dogs around here. I would gladly have her checked by a vet, but I can't run up a bill of hundreds of dollars. I can't afford that. Yes, you shouldn't have a pet if you can't afford vet bills, but no one and I mean NO ONE plans on having a sick animal and spending hundreds of dollars on it. OK, if you take in a sick animal, but otherwise.....

Hubby went in to work early so I had the bed to myself, I slept fairly well. I woke up at 7:30, I could have slept, but no, my eyes open and I can't go back to sleep. I should be grateful, to lounge in the bed until such an hour, but I really wanted to sleep in!!!!

I am about half way through the new book, I am enjoying it as much as the last time, I can't wait to move on. It is however cutting into my blog reading time. And my bedtime. And my cleaning time. OK, it is cutting in to my life. I don't care, I hide here in Blog World, I might as well hide in Mitford too. The characters are just as fun. The real world is over rated sometimes.Do not get me wrong, I visit the real world from time to time, but that is a different post.

The storms of yesterday have came and gone. We were fortunate to be missed for the most part. A few branches less in the trees, but no damage. We were missed by mere miles, both south and north of us. Schools let out early, I believe to punish parents with a half a day more of their children. They claim it was for the safety of the students. Yeah, I think the teachers are just tired of them. Summer is almost here. 5 days next week and 3 1/2 days the following. Then life as I know it will be over for, what, 3 months! I guess I will go for now, Little Miss is wasting Windex, cleaning all TVs and the storm door. I guess I should watch her, maybe learn a thing or two about cleaning. So until next time......

HAVE A GREAT DAY AND THANKS FOR VISITING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
