Finally a weekend update!

So here it is Tuesday and I am just getting my weekend update going. Damn stomach virus, threw my whole week off! So where to start, Let's start with Friday....

So I managed to get through a few blogs and pick up around the house and had a decent day. Little Miss went to spend the night with Grandma, WOOT! Hubby and I decided we would go clean the office and get it out of the way. Every Sunday when we are there cleaning we gripe that we must start doing it on Friday evenings again, so that we don't dread it all weekend. Well, we stopped at the corner store and after standing around talking for over a half an hour, my husband knows everyone, he decides he doesn't want to go clean. I on the other hand am tired of listening to him gripe all weekend about having to go clean and I insisted that we go and get it out of the way.

I happened to win this wonderful little battle, we also run through town and paid a bill I forgot to pay and had let it get almost a month past due. I swear I have no clue where my brain is anymore! Well, we cleaned the office and I convinced him it would be a wonderful idea to go and get a little supper. I love it when he is so easily convinced! So we went to Captain D's for a little fish and shrimp. That particular Captain D's is in front of a little store I love to visit. No, not Hel-Mart or Target. Old Time Pottery. They have really good prices on some things, of course like most other stores, some prices aren't so good. Anyway, I could spend hours wondering around this store just looking.

As we were wondering around and he was complaining about how much area we had left to explore, he started feeling bad. As in, he was on the lookout for bowls and baskets on every aisle, as if I would allow him to puke in one. And ruin a cute bowl, NEVER! So my shopping trip was cut a bit short.

On the way home, he pulled off and got sick. I may be a mom but the sound of someone getting sick makes my stomach churn. And my husband is not a quiet vomiter, no he is one of those who sounds like, well, he is actually bringing up his guts. Anyway, I was really proud I was not hanging out of the other side of the car losing it! We managed to get home without too much trouble and once we got to the house, he pretty much lost it. Both of the bathrooms were used by him, so I got to clean up a lot.

Can someone answer me a question? I mean I can clean up behind Little Miss without a great deal of gagging, it is not my favorite things to do, it wouldn't even make it to the top 100, but I can do it. Why is it, I damn near lose my cookies to clean up behind my husband? I cleaned chunks up out of the floor when Little Miss was sick, but I tossed my cookies wiping up a little splashed vomit off of the commode behind hubby. I have never understood that.

Anywho..... Needless to say, I spent most of the night listening to hubby run to the bathroom every 30 minutes or so. After about 2 hours, the vomiting ceased and the other end opened up the flood gates, so it was an enjoyable night.

He spent most of Saturday sleeping. Pretty much I sat around and tried to be quiet and not bother the sleeping bear. He would get up and complain and I would bless his heart and send him back to bed. Little Miss came home, she stayed at Grandma's for as long as she could. It seems she would have preferred that I got her stomach virus to her dad getting it. She actually said I thought I would have given it to you, not dad. But I think I understand it, he dad spoils her, where as me, not so much.

We actually managed to survive the whole day and night. Sunday Hubby wasn't sleeping, he was griping. God, I love a sick man. It is not sufficient to tell me a hundred times he feels bad, no, we run into the millions of times. He wanted to eat, but his stomach didn't feel up to it. He is tired but doesn't want to sleep. His head hurts, his body hurts, he feels like shit. OK, I got it. I hid out in the bedroom at the sewing table as much as possible. I worked on my quilt most all day. I managed to get the last row put together, now I only have to put the rows together to make the quilt top, or so I thought. Turns out I still need to do another row. Which means I must make 4 more squares and put them together and then add it to the rest of the rows and then I can finish the quilt top. Damn I hate mistakes. The only thing I can figure is somehow, I mis-measured and the squares turned out smaller and if I don't add another row, it will be a bit short for the bed.

I left the house and hid out at the grocery store at the corner for a good hour. You know it takes forever to figure out what to buy, what a sick man can eat and then check out. And of course I had to have a few things from the Dollar General, I did too! I had to get those scrubbing bubbles to clean the commode. NO it couldn't wait. Little Miss was playing nurse, leave me alone. I thought I was doing good considering I didn't kill him.

Little Miss tried to pull a " I don't feel good" play, but I was able to see straight through it. I mean she did nothing more than eat all evening. A stomach virus doesn't usually include eating major quantities of food, so she blew that one.

Hubby got off to work early Monday morning, headed off to Nashville to get cement, seems the little irritating bug wasn't done with him. He was freezing and running his heater and his head was killing him and he came home early. He was home by 8:30am. He went to bed and I went about my normal Monday and cleaned up the house and washed clothes. I forgot to wash a couple of loads from last week and then with hubby being sick and running a fever and sweating so he went through a lot of clothes so I managed to have roughly 12 loads of clothes to wash. And I have let the house go to pot and the amount of dust hanging out around here was ridiculous.

The Boy was the cause of the good cleaning in the bathroom. He has been helping a friend do body-work on an old truck and he has came in pretty much covered in black dust and so I discovered a lot of black spots on the shower curtain and all over the walls in the tub/shower combo. I had 2 choices. Turn a blind eye to it and claim to have not seen it or actually get in there and clean it. I chose to actually clean it, after fighting to get the curtain down and washed and to clean all the black spots off the walls and the black ring out of the bottom of the tub, I wish I would have ignored it.

And the living room? OH. MY. GAWD!!!! I cleaned off the ceiling fan. Can you say, filthy? I didn't know it had that much dust on it! I never saw it, no wonder it has been making a strange noise! And this stupid desk. Who knew that all of the little cubbies needed to get dusted? I figured that they were covered, they were shielded from all the dust. Boy, was I WRONG! I did get the living room cleaned up fairly good. I was trying to be quiet and not wake up the growling man, but after a 5 hour nap, I quit trying too hard! He slept for 7 hours!!! But on a good note, after waking up and moving around a bit, he felt better.

Can you believe that after I was sweet enough to let him sleep for so long and after I took care of him all weekend, he had the nerve to get ill with me? He actually had a hissy on me! I was going to put the garbage out on the porch or in the back of the truck to be taken down for garbage pickup and he got ill and told me not to put it outside or the cats would shred the bag and drag it out. I told him I was just trying to get it out of the kitchen so I could sweep and mop and then put on the rest of supper. He had the nerve to tell me to just leave it there and he would get it later. So I dropped it in front of the stove and walked away. He got all ill and yanked it up and flew out of the door with it, cussing about me being so inpatient and being such a pain in his ass! A pain in his ass? Oh, I could tell him about someone being a pain in the ass, but I just let it go. I was really proud of myself.

Well, I guess I should go. I want to try to work on the quilt a little and maybe try to get that pillow made from the material I got. And my back and legs are giving me a fit today, but I refuse to let them get me down. I worked my ass off yesterday and was barely able to walk, but I got everything done. I have decided that I will ignore them and maybe it will go away. So until next time..........

HAVE A GREAT DAY AND THANKS FOR VISITING!!!!!

Men are the biggest babies EVER!! Aaron gets a hangnail and whines all day. When he gets cut-up at work he has to come home and point it all out just like the kids. Wah wah wah. Puke it up and get on with it, like a WOMAN. Girly man!

Seriously, I hope everyone feels better and soon. Stomach bugs can ruin you for an entire week and then some.
